Two Rooms of Live Music & DJ's celebrating the Mod Revival Scene.

Mods Mayday returns in 2018 following on from the 2017 three night run at the 100 Club with a one night stand at 229 in Great Portland Street. Eight Bands will appear over two rooms along with DJ's until late.

Secret Affair formed in 1978 after previous incarnation as New HeartsIn a period of a little over two years, they posted five releases in the UK Singles Chart, and released three albums. The debut single "Time For Action" reached number 13 in the UK chart, putting them at the forefront of the mod revival movement. More chart success followed with "Let Your Heart Dance", "My World" and "Sound Of Confusion". They also drew up plans for a smart-dressing youth movement - The Glory Boys – based around the idea of 1960s gangster chic, influenced by the movie, "Performance."

The Lambrettas came to prominence in the late 1970's Mod Revival scene in the UK. Their first single "Poison Ivy" captured the zeitgeist of the time and went straight into the Top 10 of the UK charts and earned the band a slot on BBC1's "Top of the Pops". Further singles "D-a-a-ance", "Another Day, Another Girl", & "Good times" brought the band a huge audience.

The Chords were championed by Paul Weller and Sham 69's Jimmy Pursey before signing to Polydor Records and scoring chart hits with "Maybe Tomorrow", "Something's Missing", "The British Way of Life" and more. Their debut album "So Far Away" reached number 30 in the naitonal charts. Now fronted by original member Chris Pope, The Chords UK will be playing the hits and selections from their recent album "Take on Life" tonight.

Squire were named after a shop called Squires which they originally rehearsed above. They released the first single of the Mod Revival genre "Get Ready to Go" in March 1979.

Fronted by Anthony Meynell, Squire released two fantastic singles for Arista - "Walking Down The Kings Road", with anthemic "Its A Mod, Mod World" on the flip side, and "Face Of Youth Today", and a fourth "My Mind Goes Round In Circles" featured Kirsty MacColl on vocals.

Squire went on to record five albums and ten singles, including the sunshine pop album "Get Smart" in 1983, and the groundbreaking "September Gurls" album in 1984, the title track a cover of Big Star’s then undiscovered classic.

Formed in November 1979 Small World are influenced by 1960s guitar based groups like the Small Faces and post-punk new wave such as The Jam and The Clash. Small World supported the Purple Hearts & Long Tall Shorty before rleeasing their debut single 'Love is Dead' in 1981. After their second single 'First Impressions" the band played a farewell concert in 1984 at the Hope & Anchor in Islington, London.

The Killermeters began as a Punk band in 1977. Hailing from Huddersfield the band were influenced by Dr. Feelgood and The Rolling Stones. After changing to a Mod Group in 1978 The Killermeters quickly became one of the first Mod Groups in the North of England. Their debut single was 'Why Should it Happen to Me?" which was released in 1979. Support slots on UK tours with The Undertones, Eddie & The Hot Rods and more followed but the band split after their second, Northern Soul inspired, single 'Twisted Wheel'.

Deep Six comprise ex-members of Makin' Time, The Upper Fifth, The Threads and The E Types and have played supporting From the Jam, Secret Affair and more recently. The debut album 'Introducing The Deep Six' is one of the best new releases of 2017.
